1. All OMEGA-3s are not the same: Many "Omega-3" products contain ONLY the parent ALA compound. While this is not bad in itself, it is of little value since the human physiology has been shown to only convert about 3-5% to the EFAs EPA and DHA, the omegas you want and need. We want the anti-imflammatory EPA and DHA. So, if your product does not include EPA and DHA, why bother?

Also, the only known source of EPA & DHA is marine (plankton/algae, krill, small fish, and large fish. So, if you are vegetarian, you have to find a good source.

2. Not all Omega-3s are pure: All omegas are highly labile, i.e., they are rapidly oxidized which create toxic, and therefore, undesirable compounds. Oxidation can happen at many steps along the way from source to your stomach. For example, shortly after harvesting and during the processing of the omegas most oxidation occurs. If you take EPA and DHA, you should ask your source for a third-party testing of oxidative state. Detail: there are two tests for oxidation: one for preoxidation (harvesting and shipping) and one for oxidation during processing. They can be combined for a total oxidation value. Know what you are taking!

Recommended Use:
