The Garbage Patches
There is an area off the coast of Japan known as The Garbage Patch, three times the size of Texas and a seeming doldrums where the world’s plastics collect and degrade.
Can you imagine how many plastic tubes, containers and bags are used each day? And, where do they get deposited? We have recently read that there is now more plastic then plankton in our oceans. What a scary scenario!
- Plastic doesn’t ever entirely degrade
- Plastic simply breaks into smaller and smaller pieces resembling food
- Baby fish have stomachs filled with the stuff and die of starvation…etc.
To counter the trillions of plastic tubes, containers and bags used every day, we at Anti-Aging Company make every effort to package as environmentally-friendly as possible.
If our products are a bit heavier from use of glass or take a few extra minutes to apply, it's because we have selected packaging and application materials that are easily recycled or biodegradable.
LEARN MORE: National Public Radio Show, All Things Considered, October 28, 2007 · A cluster of plastic garbage has formed in the middle of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Los Angeles. Capt. Charles Moore, founder of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation, talks with Andrea Seabrook about his recent trip through the "garbage patch."
